Listen to your heart~ chapter 1 The meeting

I remember the day I met him. My weapon. It was a warm night and tomorrow was my first day at death weapon miester academy and a rich family by the last name Evan's was hosting a party for the starting semester. "Come on maka you gotta dance its a party you may meet your weapon here," my dad said and I just rolled my eyes "No thanks I don't dance," I said turning my head and placing my chin on the back of my hand. I watched as my dad sighed and walked away to go chat with a few ladies. A boy with blond hair walked over to me and held his hand out "Care to dance?" he asked with a smirk "No thanks." I said and he sighed and walked away. I do dance but I just didn't feel like I was dressed for it, all I was wearing was a plaid, yellow sweater, long black coat and sandals. I sighed and a waiter cam by with some champagne
and placed a glass in front of me. I took a sip and gagged a bit at the taste. I watched as the people danced and soon the music ended and the music was replaced by the sound of a piano. I just sat were I was and listened while everyone danced slowly to the tune. At the end of the night I finally got up from my spot and went searching for my dad.

He was at the back of the house charming so women so I sighed and left waiting for him to get done. Everybody had left and I began to walk out to the front till I heard the piano begin to play again. The music was beautiful so I decided to go tell the person who played that they played well. I walked into the empty ball room but nobody was at the piano yet I still heard the music. It was coming from upstairs so I decided to follow it. I walked up the steps that lead to the balcony over the ballroom. I saw a red curtain and pulled it a bit and went through. It led me to a long narrow hall with pictures on the wall. I walked down the hall towards a door that was at the end and pressed my ear against it. I heard the music and knew the person had to be in there. I slowly turned the doorknob and walked in. There was a light shining on a boy with white hair and he was wearing a tux. The room had pictures scattered on the walls and we were the only people in there. The boy stopped playing and turned his head a bit. He had red eyes and tan skin.

"This is me." he said and began to play a dark song. I listened closely, it was sad and dark. When he finished I walked up behind him and smiled "That was beautiful," I said with a smile "Are you an even's?" I asked curiously. "Yea the youngest," He said and I noticed his sharp pointy teeth "Your a weapon aren't you," I asked and he smirked "Yea, are you a miester?" he asked looking me up and down "Yes and I want to be your partner." I said and held my hand out. He smirked "Why should I be your weapon?" he asked "Because you seem like the only person I can trust right now." I said smiling and he was taken back a bitten then chuckled. "Before I can be anybodies weapon, whats your name?" he asked smirking a toothy smirk "Maka Albearn, and your's?" I asked curiously "Soul Eater Evans." he said. I held my hand out and smiled "Soul eater will you be my weapon?" I asked and he took my hand and shook it "I'll be your weapon if you promise to make me a death scythe." he said with a smirk and I smiled and nodded once.

I was working on the apartment me and soul would be living at, I was cleaning it up a bit before he arrived and smirked. We talked to his parents last night about him becoming my weapon and they seemed over joyed. When Soul left they told me they were happy I was his miester they could tell he trusted me and knew that I understood him. The memory made me smile and I soon heard a knock at the door making me come out of the flashback. I opened the door to see soul looking completely different then he did last night. He had on a leather jacket and jeans with a headband in his head. "Hey," I said with a smile "Sup." soul said smirking and walked in "This place seems cool." he said looking around "Yea this is where the students live." I said showing soul to his room. He placed his suitcase on his bed and smiled "Iv'e never bin away from my house, this is gonna be new for me." soul said unzipping his back "Same, i'll leave you to unpack i'm gonna head out and get some groceries you want anything?" I asked half way to the door "No thanks i'm good." soul said with a smirk.

I smiled and left his room closing his door behind me. I was walking to the grocery store looking at a list I had made till I ran into someone. "Maka you gotta be careful." the person said and I looked up to see that it was my dad "You should have let me fall." I said with a sigh. "I was worried about you, why didn't you tell me you were leaving without me? Did you leave with a boy!?" my dad asked curiously and concerned "No," I said "Well I have great news! I may have found you a weapon!" he said happily "No thanks iv'e already got one, I met him at the party last night." I said walking away but my dad grabbed my shoulder and turned me around. "Him?" he asked curiously "Yes him." I said trying to brush my dads hand off my shoulder but he had a tight grip on my shoulder. "Maka I don't want your weapon to be a boy, he could try to take advantage of you! What if he hurts you!" my dad yelled and I began to get angry and tears strolled down my cheeks "Dad you have no room to talk! Did you think it wouldn't hurt me and mom when you ran around on her! Do you think it wouldn't hurt me when you two got a divorce!? Just leave me alone and go to your whores at chupacabra!" I yelled and pushed my dad away. I ran to the end of the street, turned into a ally way and hid. I cried for a while till I fell asleep.

"Maka!" I heard a faint voice yell my name "Maka wake up!" I heard my name again and opened my eyes slowly to see soul holding me close and yelling for me to wake up. "Huh? What happened?" I asked looking around at my surroundings. I was still in the ally way and soul had a worried look on his face "You didn't come back to the apartment you were gone for three hours so I came looking for you. What happened?" soul asked worriedly "All I remember was running into papa and we got into an argument, I cried and ran here to cry in peace then I guess I fell asleep." I said and sighed "Don't do that again, please don't." soul said resting his forehead on mine. After a while we stood up and walked onto the street. The laughing moon was out and I sighed "You wanna go home or to the grocery store?" soul asked with his arm around my shoulder "We should go the the store." I said and soul nodded. I had to show him where to go since he was new to death city. We were walking home with our arms full and I stopped before we walked into the building "You ok maka?" soul asked worried "No i'm just gonna stay out here for a second." I said and watched soul walk into the building.

After a while I looked up at the window of our apartment and the light flipped on. I soon heard a crashing noise and my eyes widened. I ran into the building and towards our room. I saw that the door was opened and my dad had soul against the wall with his arm turned into a scythe blade and against souls neck "Your not a good enough weapon for my daughter! I don't want her weapon being a idiotic boy either!" my dad yelled and soul didn't seem to even flinch. He stuck his arm out and it turned into a red scythe blade with a black line. He smirked "Wanna bet." soul said and I gritted my teeth in anger "Dad what the hell are you doing here!?" I yelled and my dad turned his head a bit and looked at me surprised "M-maka!" he said shocked and I grabbed a book and though it at his head. "Get out!" I yelled and he sighed. He let go of soul and walked out. I slammed the door and soul looked shocked "That was your dad?" he asked curiously "Yea he's such a jerk." I said "Sorry if he hurt you," I said feeling guilty "It's ok I could'v handled him" soul said with a smirk and I couldn't help but smile.

I began to put up the groceries and soul turned his arm back to normal and helped. I sighed "You just wanna order pizza tonight?" I asked and soul smirked "Sounds great." soul said and I dialed the pizza places number. I finished ordering and smirked "I'm gonna go get a shower," I said placing some money on the counter "Don't forget to tip the pizza guy." I said and walked away towards the bathroom. I showered and got out. I changed into my pajama's and went to the kitchen. Soul was at the door paying the pizza guy and closed the door. He smirked "Pizza's here." soul said and placed the pizza on the the table, I smirked and sat at the table. I opened the box and took a piece of pizza out. "Aren't you gonna get a plate?" soul asked sitting across from me "Why would I?" I asked taking another bite "Well when I was living at home when we ordered pizza or anything else we would put them on plates." soul said picking up a piece. "Well you can do what you want now, except you must help keep the place clean and we gotta take turns cooking." I said "Don't worry I can cook the maids used to show me how so when I leave to start my own life." soul said smirking.

"Wow...Did you pay attention?" maka asked amazed "Surprisingly yes." soul said with a smirk. When we finished eating soul went to his room and came out with some clothes. "I'm gonna get a shower ok?" soul said "Ok i'm gonna go to bed." I said and walked to my room "Don't stay up to late tomorrows our first day of school." I said smiling and walking to my room "Don't worry I want." soul said walking into the bathroom. I smirked and closed the door to my room. I laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling "My first day at the DWMA starting tomorrow also," I thought to myself "I'll be your weapon if you promise to make me a death scythe." I remember souls words and smirked "I promise." I said and closed my eyes and slept...
